The Tiger Lillies, Jocelyn Clarke, Jiří Havelka:
June 15 – 18, 2011 at 8:00 pm (in Czech and English, English subtitles)
Musical morality with The Tiger Lillies. The critically acclaimed production directed by Jiří Havelka and co-created by Irish writer Jocelyn Clarke and famous UK band The Tiger Lilliesyou surely remember their famous production Shockheaded Peter). The piece confronts the dirty poetry of the Tiger Lillies’ songs with antiseptic health care culture. The Archa Theatre as a disgraced beauty salon.

June 16 – 18, 2011 at 10:00 pm
A project by students of IAT Giessen and DAMU Prague under the mentorship of Heiner Goebbels and Czech directorial team SKUTR. Premiere for PQ. The Archa Theatre as a laboratory for artistic creation.

June 21, 2011 at 10:00 am and 8:00 pm (English subtitles)
A theatrical mosaic based on long-term cooperation between the Archa Theatre and asylum seekers. The show directed by Jana Svobodová tells the real stories of Chechen, Burmese, Georgian and Kurdish refugees. Live music by the internationally acclaimed Allstar Refjúdží Band led by Michael Romanyshyn. The Archa Theatre is changed into a marketplace where five shows are performed on five stages at the same time.

June 22, 2011 at 8:00 pm, 23 June 2011 at 10:00 am
A dance performance on the phenomenon of refugees seen through children’s eyes. Choreography and direction: Tereza Ondrová and Veronika Kotlíková. Great live music by Czech band DVA!
Four professional dancers and five children on stage in a piece inspired by the famous wordless picture book Arrrival by Shaun Tan. Archa Theatre as a dance space with rear screen projection.

František Vítek and Věra Říčařová – PIŠKANDERDULÁ
June 23, 2011 at 8:00 pm (no language barrier)
A graceful performance inspired by children’s games by highly acclaimed Czech puppeteers. Vera and František take us on a journey to their wooden universe. The evening is full of miracles and beautiful wooden objects, while at the same time being one of the most humble shows in the world.

June 25 – 26, 2011 at 8:00 pm
A black and white melodrama, visual theatre and a concert. An autobiographical exploration of time inspired by the inflatable toys designed by the artist’s mother.
Petr Nikl is one of the most respected Czech visual artists. In the 60s Libuše Niklová designed toys that were known to all Czech children. Forty years later her work has been recognised as great art and has even been exhibited at the Louvre. I Am Your Bunny transforms Archa into a huge airship floating into the intimate landscape of childhood.
